The Eastern Ohio Development Alliance hosted its 33rd Annual Meeting on Friday, April 26th at the Carlisle Inn in Walnut Creek, OH. Over 125 members and guests were in attendance.
Kevin Hoggatt, Director of State Government Affairs for the Intel Corporation, was the keynote speaker. He provided an update on the construction of manufacturing facilities to produce semiconductors. The project is currently a $20 billion investment located in Licking County, Ohio. Completion of the project is anticipated to be in 2025 or 2026, depending on market conditions and availability of federal funds from the CHIPS Act (Creating Helpful Incentives to Produce Semiconductors in America). According to a Columbus Dispatch article published in February 2024, “[Intel] CEO Pat Gelsinger said in 2022 that he wants to turn the Licking County campus into one of the world’s biggest semiconductor operations with what eventually could be a total investment of $100 billion and as many as eight or 10 factories.”
