The Eastern Ohio Development Alliance hosted a meeting at the Lafayette Hotel in Marietta on July 24, 2026. The program included a panel to discuss data centers focusing on project confidentiality and public transparency. Panel members were selected by Mike Jacoby, Managing Director of Economic Development for Bricker Graydon Wyatt LLP. The panel addressed a room of 80 members who are actively involved in economic and community development activities in their communities. The program also included a presentation by Laura Kunkle, Executive Director of America in Bloom. America in Bloom promotes and builds vibrant and sustainable communities through volunteerism and education emphasizing flowers, plants, trees, heritage, and environmental and lifestyle enhancements. This program is celebrating a 25th anniversary of envisioning communities across the country as the best examples of welcoming and vibrant places to live, work, and play.

The next EODA meeting will be held at the Muskingum County Welcome Center in Zanesville on Friday, November 20, 2026. The program will include a panel of oil and gas representatives who will be sharing updates on the industry. J.P. Nauseef, President and CEO of JobsOhio, has been invited to provide an update on economic development activities in the state. Meeting registration information will be available in mid-October.
