EODA conducted a virtual meeting on Friday, November 13, 2020. The meeting was hosted by the Governmental Affairs/Public Relations Committee. The committee is co-chaired by Dave Wheeler and Ed Looman. New officers were elected to serve in 2021. Matt Abbott, Executive Director of the Zanesville-Muskingum County Port Authority, will serve as president. J.P. Dutton, Belmont County Commissioner, will serve as vice-president. Gwynn Stewart, Community Development Educator for Ohio State University Extension, Noble County, will serve as secretary, Jim Schoch, EODA Executive Director, will continue to serve as treasurer. Board members were approved for 2021 & 2022. Chuck Zelek, Ph.D., Special Advisor to the Assistant Secretary, U.S. Department of Energy Office of Fossil Energy gave a presentation focusing on The Appalachian Energy and Petrochemical Renaissance – An Examination of Economic Progress and Opportunities. Tyler Yaple, Director of Government Affairs, JobsOhio provided a in-depth legislative update. The meeting closed with an open roundtable for members to share information on current events in their communities.
